Illustration of a historic Westside Atlanta neighborhood

Community History

A neighborhood that keeps its own records.

The blocks, institutions and people who built this side of Atlanta — starting with 2357 Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy NW and the corridor it sits on.

Why a history page

The Westside is not a backdrop. It is the story.

A festival is a single afternoon. A community is generations. This page collects the history of the neighborhood Harvest Fest calls home — the institutions, the families, the corners and the corridors — so the people who live here can see themselves in it, and the people who visit can understand where they are.

The archive opens with the first edition.

Organizers are collecting historical entries for this neighborhood. If you have a story, a photograph or a record to share — from the McCray family legacy to the history of Hollowell Parkway — we want to include it.
